Watching the Grammys
Man, seriously, I've never heard any of Avril Lavigne's songs b4 tonight. I'd thought I'd never liked them... and what the hell!! I was right. But woo....check out those pucky lips of hers. I've coulda crooned her the Peppers' song that my band (no, no, not Spooning With Satan aka the Ass People From Uranus, the other one) is covering.

Yeah, where was I? The Grammys, ah yes...
A self-congratulatory, masturbatory event indeed. And I couldn't believe I sat through the whole thing though I missed Faith Hill's performance. Damn ...
However, to me, the highlights were the supergroup formed by Bruce Springsteen (with his long-standing guitarist, Nils Lorgen?), Elvis Costello, Dave Grohl and the bassist from No Doubt did a cover of "London Calling" as a tribute to Joe Strummer, the fallen frontman of the Clash (kinda overdone if u ask me but it was a lovely gesture, nonetheless) and Eminem performing "Lose Yourself" with the Roots (!!!). The Roots were amazing as usual as my 1st introduction to them was Jay-Z's MTV Unplugged set. A real hip-hop band that plays everything themselves with a hard hitting groove. Kinda reminded me of those Motown/Stax session musicians in the 60's and 70's. Always on the money...
